We have been taking our pets to College Park Veterinary Clinic for over 25 years. The care given our pets has been and continues to be good. Unfortunately, once the business was sold to a corporation, the charges escalated. For example; nail trims went from $15.00 to $25.49 plus $12.49 Technician charge ($37.98 total). Each time we have an appointment, we see incremental increases in almost all charges for service. College Park is not alone for increased vet charges. Pet ownership costs have increased exponentially over the past few years. I am sure this is leading to overall decrease in healthcare for pets in lower income households. Luckily, there are lower cost clinics that offer vaccines and preventative care services at affordable prices. Some pet groomers offer nail trims at $10.00. I guess my point is to be a consumer who takes the time to shop around. I do this for grocery shopping and car care. So, why not vet services. I'm sure some enterprising individuals/companies will begin to offer alternative services at lower price points.

A few years ago, I called my normal vet that I had taken my dog to for years. It was an emergency and I was told that the earliest they could see my dog was at least a week away. I called College Park Veterinary, they had never seen my dog, I told them what the problem was and was asked, how soon could I be there. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and a very decent price.
