We have been using Hartsville Animal for years. A few years ago when we got our Rottweiler, he got extremely sick and needed emergency care. If it wasn’t for them, he wouldn’t be here today. They take emergency situations very seriously and are always on top of their game. A few weeks ago, our 2 year old cat suddenly got sick. He actually goes to a different vet, but we were told by both the emergency vet AND his primary vet that he needed emergency surgery for a linear blockage. His primary vet wasn’t able to do the surgery and told me to check with nearby vets to see if anyone could. I drove him straight to Hartsville Animal. They immediately took him to the back to start fluids while I signed the surgery papers and left him in their care. About 25 minutes later, I got a call from Dr. Katie (Lopresti) telling me she didn’t think he actually needed surgery. She answered all my questions and explained exactly why she thought he didn’t have a blockage, and that he probably just ate something that slowed his GI tract down. The next day, I got another call saying his x-rays looked great, he was using the bathroom, and he was holding food down. I went and picked him up that afternoon and he has been acting like his normal self ever since. Because of Dr. Katie, we were able to avoid our cat having an unnecessary exploratory surgery. This is now the second time this vet has quite literally saved our animals' lives. I couldn’t recommend this office enough!!

I can't express how much vet tech Leon helps me with my dogs. He gets to know each one personally. He asks how they are doing at home. He even cries with us when we lose one. His passion for his job shines through with his care and love of every animal that comes through the door of Hartsville Animal Hospital.

I have never been but my grandma goes their and she talk so highly about the place, she always talk about Dr. Kenzo & this young man name Leon.. Thk u guys for taking care of her & her fur babies

Took our dog in because of excessive scratching, did a exam and gave some meds for allergies. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, will take him back again.
